The purpose of a community is to bring security and prosperity to its people. Mentorship and collaboration are two strategies for the Black community to heal, grow, and thrive. Collaboration among people of African Ancestry not only improves the lives of individual Black people but also increases the potential for healing and development of the Black community. How can we build reliable systems for others to be mentored, learn, and succeed?

In this episode of Hey, I’m Listening, Dr. Joan speaks with Dr. Jacqueline King about Mentorship and Collaboration in the Black Community.

Dr. Jacqueline King spent twenty-six years in various management positions for the largest Electric and Gas Company in New Jersey. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Master of Science in Christian Counseling, an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities, and a Doctorate in the Philosophy of Christian Counseling from Cornerstone Christian Bible College International. She has had a life of service having served on many boards including; The College of New Jersey Non-Traditional Jobs for Women, the Middlesex County Gender and Equity Board, The Mayor of Newark New Jersey’s Diversity Council, and the National Alliance for Mental Illness NAMI.
