Youth Development in the Black Community | Dr. Joan speaks with Shaun “SF” Banks Part 3

Today’s world contains far more information than ever before. For the Black community, technology has been a gain and a pain. Children are constantly exposed to negative self-image, pornography, and misinformation. How do we deal with the information at our fingertips that fosters negative mindsets in children? The Black community must reclaim power from the system by rejecting negative projections, exposing youths to accurate information, censoring information that could harm children’s minds, and constantly educating them.

In this episode of Hey, I’m Listening, Dr. Joan speaks with Shaun ‘SF’ Banks about Youth Development in the Black Community

Shaun SF. Banks have been involved in the youth development industry for over 20 years, focusing on developing youths’ self-confidence and self-efficacy. As a result, SF excels at motivating kids to go after their dreams and educating families on effective ways to produce the best version of their children. In 2007, SF opened the I AM Defense institute against profound disinterest in working with children. Since that time, he has developed a passion for creating personal development systems for youth.
