Barrenness often carries a burden of shame, as societal expectations link fertility to self-worth. The inability to conceive can lead to feelings of inadequacy and isolation. It is crucial to replace shame with compassion and understanding toward oneself while creating an environment of healing and empowerment. By recognizing and embracing your worth beyond the ability to bear children, you get to see that other areas of your life are productive.
In this episode of Hey, I’m Listening, Dr. Joan speaks with Frances Jones about Overcoming the Stigma of Infertility
Frances Jones is a wife, mother, and the founder of Heart Desires Fulfillment Coaching. She is a global women empowerment speaker, an advocate, and a transformational coach. Her book, Overcoming the Emotional Stigmas of Infertility: Barren But Not Ashamed, tells the story of the negativity she experienced during her over a 20-year journey of never being able to conceive. Frances became free from those negative emotions, found peace with not being able to have children, and stopped infertility from controlling her life.
